Customizing your Wordpress Theme - Part 1
You might have noticed the new design, it’s a hacked Statement theme from Blog Oh Blog. I was looking for a simple and clean design which can last me for a while, and I am pleased with the result. I am no guru, but will just like to share the resources which allowed me to achieve the various hacks, saving you hours searching the web.

The theme is still a work in progress, other than aesthetics changes, I am planning to implement a magazine style layout theme with a “featured post” and other popular categories using custom images, which is style gaining popularity recently. I will be grateful to anyone willing to show me the way……
If you have any queries as to how certain features are implemented, feel free to drop in the comments. Enjoy reading!

Noel hi there
Really like the hacks you’ve made, and thanks for the list of web resources, really useful.
I’m not hugely gifted when it comes to the tech, but I have started to play around with the PHP files and CSS. I really like your About box and the Twitter box. Any chance I could share the hacks (am also using Statement at http://www.alexlockwood.net)?

It looks great!
Very clean and clearly laid out. Easy to get around, and it looks like you’ve made very nice edits. Well done!
And I’m glad you found some articles at my site helpful! Thanks for the links!

@alex
Sure, here’s the link to the login form tutorial, and here’s to adding author bio. I basically combined the two and applied styling to it.
For twitter, follow this link and it will generate the code necessary to display your twitter messages.
If you require further assistance, I can email you my sidebar.php for you to “dissect” it.
@Michael
Thanks for the compliment. I thoroughly enjoyed your site, and would love to see a future tutorial on how you achieve your homepage layout.

Nazu,
Great to know you’re interested in the theme. However I currently have no plans to release the theme as I am still in the process of “playing around” with it. Perhaps in the near future when I am done with all the customization, I might consider releasing it if there’s demand.
In the meantime, if you require any assistance in any features implemented, feel free to drop a message.
